Vocational Assessment

Services For Brain Injury (SBI) provides assessment services for people with all types of brain injuries to help accurately determine potential for employment and/or program/support needs.
The Comprehensive Vocational Evaluation examines a wide range of cognitive and work skills, with results and recommendations focused on the clients strengths, as well as barriers to successful employment. If further evaluation of job readiness is deemed appropriate, the Situational Assessment provides practical application of the clients work skills in a short-term external or simulated work environment.
The Comprehensive Vocational Evaluation battery is intended to help determine a clients potential for employment and need for program/support services. Assessment areas include: orientation, attention, visual perception, language and communication, memory, executive functioning, psycho-social, academics, technology, activities of daily living, upper extremity and fine motor function, balance, endurance, and mobility, vocational interests and work sample studies. Methods of evaluation include past medical documentation review, self/caregiver report, self-rating questionnaires, standardized assessments, non-standardized assessments, and clinical observation.
