Coronavirus

March 13, 2020

A virus originating in China called “Covid-19” or “Novel Coronavirus” is present in the communities SBI serves. This virus has the following symptoms:

Fever                    Cough                   Shortness of Breath

Due to overwhelming guidance from county, state, and federal agencies, SBI has decided to close group services and programs next week until further notice, but at minimum through March 27, 2020. The Cognitive Rehabilitation Program (CRP) and Independent Living Skills Training (ILST) program includes clients who fall into the CDC’s “high risk” category, therefore CRP will be closed starting Monday, March 16. All Work Readiness/Immersion sites will be closed starting Tuesday, March 17. Touchstones support group is also closed until further notice.

SBI’s one-on-one and remote services will still take place. This includes individual therapies, work assessments, employment services (except Job Club meetings), work experience interns, and Ticket-to-Work.

Please see the CDC website at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html for more information on how to protect yourself and the community.

Sincerely,

Julie Sebastian, MSW

Executive Director
